Rock-Solid Shorelines, Built to Last.

BBB A+ Accredited Family-Owned Since 1990 5.0 Stars on Google
Why Stone. Why Jim's.

A seawall isn't decoration — it's protection for the next thirty winters.

We build with heavy glacial fieldstone because nothing else handles an Indiana shoreline as well, or looks like it belongs there.

Built for our winters

Freeze-thaw, ice heave, and heavy clay soils destroy walls that aren't built for them. Our heavy stone base and drainage are engineered for exactly this ground.

🌿

Kind to the shoreline

Natural stone works with the lake instead of against it — the environmentally friendly choice for a healthy, lasting waterfront.

Built to last

Every wall starts on a heavy stone foundation and is finished with its own character. Done right the first time, and built to last.

Every wall's foundation is heavy stone. Every finish is one of a kind.

No matter the size of the project, we deliver outstanding results — on time, every time.

“They did a great job putting in our seawall years ago and it has held up well. We had them select rocks for us for landscaping and they did a great job placing the stones. Arrived when they said and were great to work with!”

Where We Work

Serving the tri-state area.

We work the lake country where Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio meet — from Coldwater down through the Angola lakes to Fort Wayne. If your shoreline is inside the highlighted area, you're in our backyard.

The highlighted area is our regular service territory. Just outside the line? Reach out anyway — we travel a little farther for the right project.

Good to Know

Questions we hear on every dock.

How much does a stone seawall cost?

Every shoreline is different — length, water depth, access for equipment, and existing wall conditions all move the number. That's why we quote per project after a free on-site look rather than off a price sheet. You'll get a clear, itemized proposal with the total price before any work is scheduled.

When is the best time to build a seawall?

We build from spring ice-out into early winter. The schedule fills fastest for summer — if you want your wall in before boating season, reach out in late winter or early spring. Fall builds are a smart play too: the shoreline is ready before spring ice heave season.

Do I need a permit for shoreline work?

Often, yes — lakefront work in Indiana and Michigan can require state or county permits depending on the lake and the scope. We've been navigating these permits for over three decades and will tell you exactly what your project needs during the estimate.

Why glacial stone instead of concrete or steel?

Poured concrete and steel walls fight the freeze-thaw cycle — and on our lakes, the ice usually wins, cracking and tipping rigid walls over time. Hand-placed glacial stone flexes with the seasons, drains naturally, softens wave energy instead of reflecting it, and looks like it belongs on the lake. Many of our jobs are re-armoring failed concrete walls in stone.

How long does installation take?

Most residential seawalls take one to three days on site once we start. Larger projects — long shorelines, steps, full lakefront renovations — can run longer, and your proposal will say so up front.

What lakes do you work on?

We're on the tri-state lake country nearly every week — Lake James, Jimmerson, Snow, Crooked, Hamilton, Ball, Clear, Gage, Big Otter, Hogback, Pleasant, and more, roughly from Coldwater, Michigan down to Fort Wayne. If your lake is inside the map above, we've probably already built on it.
